Keep Your Dog’s Temperature Regulated

insulated-dog-houseIt’s a common misconception that dogs can survive and flourish in extremely cold temperatures because of their fur. Although a dog’s coat plays a significant part in regulating their internal thermometer – even in summer, interestingly enough – that doesn’t make all of them impervious to frigid temperatures. While a Siberian husky might relish the opportunity to romp through the snow, a Chihuahua will be less eager.

Fall is right around the corner, and winter nips right at its heels. If you live in an area that experiences especially cold winters, it may be time to look for an insulated dog house. Pets should be kept indoors in harsh weather conditions, but dog houses at least provide a warm refuge if your dog becomes stir-crazy inside the home.

The Plush Life

When giving your dog his own dog furniture you should consider several important features.  From functional to fancy, small to large, their are a number of options available

The first thing you need to consider is how durable the dog furniture is.  Be sure to buy a piece that will last, remember even a normal dog can be rough and tough on toys, beds, and furniture.

Second, consider what materials is the furniture you are considering made of.  Stop and think is your dog sensitive to certain things.  If your dog likes to sleep on your couch or favorite chair then perhaps he would prefer a sloft, plush surface of his own.

Next, consider the size.  Remember one size does not fit all.  Know your dogs weight, height and length.  Buy according to his size allowing for enough room for him to move around.  If your dog is forced to sleep in a bed that is to small or to large  for him he will not be comfortable and most likely won’t use it.  You should give your dog the security feeling and comfort he desires.

Select furniture that is easy to clean.  Ones that have removable or washable covers would be an excellent choice.  To keep your dog healthy and free from fleas, you need to ensure that the place for your pet is always clean, santizied and free from odor.

Finally, styles can be a consideration.  Style and color of your dog furniture should fit the interior of your home.  There are a variety of styles and colors available on the market for you to choose from.
