Giving Your Dog His Own Space

We all know dog owners who have little to no boundaries with their dogs. Whether they let them eat food from the table or share the bed at night, it really depends on the owner as to what is and isn’t acceptable with the family dog. To that end, many people are adamant about the dog not lying on any of the human furniture, especially the bed. But if your dog doesn’t have his own bed, it can be difficult to get him off the king size bed and onto the floor.

Therefore, if you know that dog training is something that’s important to you, start crate training your dog as a puppy. This will offer your dog his own space, and this will also help him learn to respect your space. You’ll have to start early, though, to make sure that he knows the soft dog crate is his. This kind of training is also a good idea if you have small children in the family. Sometimes babies and toddlers can be overwhelming for a puppy, and it’s a good idea for the dog to have somewhere that he can feel secure and alone.
